Greetings to all! This blog marks the beginning of my term as the new President of the International Organization of Marianist Lay Communities. My Marianist story began over 30 years ago in Winnipeg, Canada. I was part of the Christian Life Community, a small faith community composed of young adults – mostly students. Some members of this original community still meet to this day.  And, some friendships evolved into marriages….including David’s and mine!

David and Isabella visiting Marianist Family in Hawai'i - 2008

My first experience with the global Marianist Family came at the Beatification ceremonies of Blessed Jakob Gapp in Rome, 1996. In 1997 I attended the Marianist Lay Network of North America Continental Assembly in Baltimore, with David. This was the start of my involvement with the MLNNA, as Area Representative for Winnipeg and member of the leadership team.

I attended my first International Meeting of MLC in Philadelphia in 2001.  I was elected  to the International Team as the Regional Responsible for North America, Asia, Ireland and Australia at the 4th International Meeting of MLC in Bordeaux, 2005. We just completed our 5th International Meeting in Nairobi, Kenya.

This blog will be a means to update you on current activities and issues within the Marianist Family as well as offer some of my own humble reflections.

Peace to all!
