At the highest level, the Marianist Lay Communities are led by an International Team of 7 members. There is one President, one Regional Responsible for each of the 5 global regions, and one assessor.

Boris Giambanco
President
Boris lives in Zaragoza, Spain, and is 48 years old; he is married with two daughters aged 15 and 12. He works in a 700-person family business in technology consulting. He started at the age of 19 in a Marianist Lay Community to live the following of Jesus according to this Marianist charism. He consecrated himself definitively to Mary 20 years ago. He has been involved in various positions of responsibility, in particular as National Manager of Spain-Zaragoza for 4 years, during which time the NGO "Acción Marianista" was created from the Marianist Family of Spain.
Atse Yao Narcisse
Regional Responsible for Africa
Narcisse lives in Abidjan, the economic capital of the Ivory Coast. He has been a member of the Marianist Lay Communities since 1997 and was consecrated to Mary in 1999. Since then, he has held several positions of responsibility and service, including that of national leader for his country in 2012 and his current role as regional leader for Africa. Professionally, he works as a mathematics teacher at Collège Notre Dame d'Afrique de Biétry, a Marianist religious school in Abidjan. He is also currently in charge of Catechesis in his parish. Narcisse is married with four children.
Kiyoshi Hirata
Regional Responsible for Asia
Kiyoshi graduated from Sophia University in Tokyo and started a teaching career at Koka Gakuen Junior & Senior High School run by the FMI in Tokyo. It was at that time I was baptized. At the same time, Kiyoshi began to study about the Marianist Family and MLCs and became one of the founders of the initial sodality with support from FMI sisters and SM priests in the 1980s. The group grew year by year, and there were more than 200 people at the turn of the century. During 2000 to 2015, Kiyoshi left the Tokyo area to teach school and was not able to attend regular meetings. When he returned in 2016, he was once again able to participate in MLC activities and took over the position of Education in the Sodality. Kiyoshi has served as the national responsible for Japan since 2018 until stepping into the inaugural role of Regional Responsible for Asia in 2022.
Mercedes de la Cuadra Guerrero
Regional Responsible for Europe
Mercedes lives in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz) in the south of Spain. She has belonged to a Lay Marianist Community in Spain-Madrid since 1992. She finds it a great joy to belong to the Marianist Family that calls you to "do what He tells you." Mercedes has served as a catechist, community adviser, and youth companion in her diocese before becoming the national responsible for Spain in in 2004. In 2018, she was elected to serve the International Team as Responsible for the Europe Region. Mercedes work for an international training company working mainly with adults. She likes to travel, get to know places and cultures, read, and celebrate around a table with family and friends. Mercedes believes that God calls her to accompany Mary, the mother of Jesus, in her continuing journey to bring her Son into the world.
Lilliam Valle de Garagorri
Regional Responsible for Latin America
Lilliam lives in Lima, Peru and has been a member of the “Fé y Razón” community since 1988. She has belonged to different coordinating committees in Lima and was part of the organizing team of the sixth International Lay Marianist Meeting held in Peru in 2014. Lilliam is committed to the formation of new communities, an active participant of the Santa Maria Reyna Parish, and is currently part of a joint mission of the Marianist Family in the Callao Region of Peru. She is married to Juan Francisco Garagorri and is a proud mother of two children and grandmother of one grandson. Lilliam likes to read, listen to music and dance.
Matt Dunn
Regional Responsible for North America, Ireland, and Australia
Matt Dunn is a member of the Micah Theotokos MLC and the Visitation Marianist State Community. He has served in various roles on the MLC-NA Leadership Council since 2010 and has also served on the MSJC Steering Committee. Matt has represented Marianist laity by serving on the Marianist Family Council of North America and as a delegate to international Marianist assemblies in Lima, Peru and Seoul, South Korea. Professionally, Matt serves as the Manager of Community Programs for the Montgomery County Department of Human Services Planning & Development.
